Ulama are the lights for the right path, the torches for the good. Ulama do not fear blame as long as they serve Allah. Our late Sheikh Imam Abul-Hassan Ali Nadwi - may Allah mercy him - was one of those heavenly scholars, an honest caller for Islam who played a great role in educating the Muslim people and had a strong influence all over the Islamic World through his scholarship, thought, call and struggle (Jihad).

One who considers Imam Nadwi's life gets more and more faith in what the Prophet said," If Allah loves one of His people, He calls Gabriel and tells him " 1 love this person, all creatures should love him as well. So, dwellers of Heaven love him and then dwellers of Earth do the same."

The Imam was brought up committed to righteousness and piousness. As a child, he was loved by all for his origin and status of his father who had noticeable contributions to his community. After the father's death, the Imam's brother reared him up. As an adult, he was loved by everyone for his vast knowledge, open-mindedness, proper method of thinking, appropriate behavior, call for Allah through wisdom and good advice. In a decent way, he argued spoilt and astray people.

Reviewing his biography will be an impetus to new generations to contribute to the fields of call and education, selecting the suitable approaches to disseminate Islam. In 1996, a full bibliography of his Arabilc and Urdu works and of his translated works in English, Hindi and other regional and international languages was edited - under supervision of H E R AA for research, publishing and distributing- on the occasion of the siminar about life and works of Imam AI-Nadwi held at Istanbol(Turkey) on the eve of the fourth general conference of the Universal League for Islamic Literature

In collaboration with Murtaza libraries, which set up a special portion for the Imam's works and biography at the general library of Nadwatul Ulama in 1998, H E R AA for research, publishing and distributing is pleased to present an overview of his life and work on the Internet for those who wish to know about him. It should be noted that this Internet Site is not an official site. It has been designed through individual efforts that were offered as a symbol of gratitude to display some aspects of his educational and Dawa contributions. May Allah bless all.
